Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Abu Bakr ibn Hazm thatUmar ibn Abd al-Aziz had asked him what people said about the 'irrevocable' divorce, and Abu Bakr had replied that Aban ibn Uthman had clarified that it was declared only once. Abou Bakr Ibn Hazm a rapporté que Omar Ibn abdul Aziz lui a dit: «Que disent les gens au sujet du divorce définitif»? Abou Bakr répondit: «Je lui ai dit que Aban Ibn Osman tenait en considération la première fois que le divorce est résolu». Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz répliqua: «Si le divorce en était résolu pour mille fois, celui qui est définitif n'en aurait rien laissé. Celui qui prononce le divorce définitif, aura déjà atteint son but»
