Sunan Ibn Majah, 551

It was narrated that Jabir said:"The Messenger of Allah passed by a man who was performing ablution and washing his leather socks. He gestures with his hand, (and said): 'Rather I have been commanded to wipe them.' The Messenger of Allah gestured with his hand like this, from the tips of the toes to the base of the shin, tracing lines with his fingers

Rapporté par Jabir : Le Messager d’Allah est passé près d’un homme qui faisait ses ablutions et lavait ses chaussons en cuir. Il a fait un geste de la main et a dit : "En réalité, on m’a ordonné de les essuyer." Le Messager d’Allah a alors montré avec sa main, du bout des orteils jusqu’à la base du tibia, en traçant des lignes avec ses doigts
