Sunan an-Nasa'i, 940

Rapporté par Ubayy bin Ka'b : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) m’a enseigné une sourate, et alors que j’étais assis à la mosquée, j’ai entendu un homme la réciter d’une manière différente de la mienne. Je lui ai dit : « Qui t’a appris cette sourate ? » Il a dit : « Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ). » Je lui ai dit : « Reste avec moi jusqu’à ce que nous allions voir le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ). » Nous sommes donc allés le voir et j’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah, cet homme récite une sourate que tu m’as apprise différemment. » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Récite, ô Ubayy. » Je l’ai donc récitée, et le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) m’a dit : « Tu as bien récité. » Puis il a dit à l’homme : « Récite. » Il l’a récitée, et c’était différent de ma récitation. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) lui a dit : « Tu as bien récité. » Puis le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Ô Ubayy, le Coran a été révélé avec sept modes de récitation différents, tous sont bons et corrects. »

It was narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me a surah, and when I was sitting in the masjid I heard a man reciting it in a way that was different from mine. I said to him: 'Who taught you this surah?' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' I said: 'Stay with me until we go to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' So we came to him and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this man recites a surah that you taught me differently.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Recite, O Ubayy.' So I recited it, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: 'You have done well.' Then he said to the man: 'Recite.' So he recited it and it was different to my recitation. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: 'You have done well.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Ubayy, the Quran has been revealed with seven different modes of reciation, all of which are good and sound
