Sunan an-Nasa'i, 3609

Rapporté par Abu Salamah ibn 'Abdur-Rahman : « 'Uthman est apparu à la fenêtre alors qu’on l’assiégeait et a dit : “Par Allah, je demande à celui qui a entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ, le jour où la montagne a tremblé avec lui, et qu’il l’a frappée du pied en disant : ‘Reste tranquille, car il n’y a sur toi qu’un Prophète, un véridique et deux martyrs,’ et j’étais avec lui.” Certains hommes ont répondu et confirmé cela. Puis il dit : “Par Allah, je demande à celui qui a vu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ, le jour du serment d’Al-Ridwan, dire : ‘Ceci est la main d’Allah et ceci est la main de 'Uthman.’” Certains hommes ont répondu et confirmé cela. Il dit : “Par Allah, je demande à celui qui a entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire, le jour de l’armée d’Al-‘Usrah (Tabuk) : ‘Qui va dépenser et cela sera accepté ?’ Et j’ai équipé la moitié de l’armée avec mes propres biens.” Certains hommes ont répondu et confirmé cela. Puis il dit : “Par Allah, je demande à celui qui a entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire : ‘Qui ajoutera à cette mosquée en échange d’une maison au Paradis,’ et je l’ai achetée avec mes propres biens.” Certains hommes ont répondu et confirmé cela. Puis il dit : “Par Allah, je demande à celui qui a vu la vente du puits de Rumah, et je l’ai acheté avec mes propres biens et j’ai permis aux voyageurs d’en profiter.” Certains hommes ont répondu et confirmé cela. »

It was narrated from Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur-Rahman that 'Uthman looked out over them when they besieged him and said:"By Allah, I adjure a man who heard the Messenger of Allah, on the day when the mountain shook with him, and he kicked it with his foot and said: 'Be still, for there is no one upon you but a Prophet or a Siddiq or two martyrs,' and I was with him." Some men responded and affirmed that. Then he said: "By Allah, I adjure a man who witnessed the Messenger of Allah, on the day of Bai'at Al-Ridwan, say: 'This is the Hand of Allah and this is the hand of 'Uthman.'" Some men responded and affirmed that. He said: "By Allah, I adjure a man who heard the Messenger of Allah say, on the day of the army of Al-'Usrah (i.e. Tabuk): 'Who will spend and it will be accepted?' And I equipped half of the army from my own wealth." Some men responded and affirmed that. Then he said: "By Allah, I adjure a man who heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Who will add to this Masjid in return for a house in Paradise,' and I bought it with my own wealth." Some men responded and affirmed that. Then he said: "By Allah, I adjure a man who witness Rumah being sold, and I bought it from my own wealth and allowed wayfarers to use it."
