Sunan an-Nasa'i, 3509

Rapporté par Abu Salamah : "Abu Hurairah et Ibn 'Abbas étaient en désaccord au sujet de la veuve qui accouche après la mort de son mari. Abu Hurairah disait : 'Elle peut se remarier.' Ibn 'Abbas disait : '(Elle doit attendre) la plus longue des deux périodes.' Ils ont envoyé un message à Umm Salamah qui a dit : 'Le mari de Subai'ah est mort et elle a accouché quinze jours – soit une demi-lune – après le décès de son mari.' Elle a dit : 'Deux hommes lui ont fait une demande en mariage, et elle penchait pour l’un d’eux. Quand ils ont vu qu’elle était décidée, ils lui ont dit : Ce n’est pas permis pour toi de te remarier. Elle est allée voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ et il a dit : "Il t’est permis de te remarier, alors épouse qui tu veux

Abu Salamah said:"Abu Hurairah and Ibn 'Abbas differed concerning the widow who gives birth after her husband's death. Abu Hurairah said: 'She may be married.' Ibn 'Abbas said: '(She has to wait) for the longer of the two periods.' They sent word to Umm Salamah and she said: 'The husband of Subai'ah died and she gave birth fifteen days -half a month- after her husband died.' She said: 'Two men proposed marriage to her, and she was inclined toward one of them. When they feared that she was becoming single-minded (on this issue, and not consulting her family), they said: It is not permissible for you to marry. She went to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'It is permissible for you to marry, so marry whomever you want
