Sunan an-Nasa'i, 2080

Rapporté par Hudhaifah : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Il y avait un homme parmi ceux qui vous ont précédés qui pensait mal de ses actes. Quand la mort s’approcha, il dit à sa famille : “Quand je mourrai, brûlez mon corps, réduisez mes os en poudre et dispersez-les dans la mer. Car si Allah me reprend, Il ne me pardonnera jamais.” Mais Allah ordonna aux anges de saisir son âme. Il lui dit : “Qu’est-ce qui t’a poussé à faire cela ?” Il répondit : “Ô Seigneur, je l’ai fait uniquement par crainte de Toi.” Alors Allah lui pardonna. »

It was narrated from Hudhaifah that the Messenger of Allah said:"There was a man among those who came before you who thought badly of his deeds, so when death was approaching he said to his family: 'When I am dead, burn my body and grind up my bones, then scatter me in the sea, for if Allah gets hold of me, He will never forgive me.' But Allah commanded the angles to seize his soul. He said to him: 'What made you do what you did?' He said:: 'O Lord, I only did it because I feared You.' So Allah forgave him
