Sahih Muslim, 817

Rapporté par Aïcha (la mère des croyants) رضي الله عنها : Elle avait emprunté un collier à sa sœur Asma’ رضي الله عنها et l’a perdu. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a envoyé des hommes le chercher. Comme c’était l’heure de la prière et qu’il n’y avait pas d’eau, ils ont prié sans ablution. En revenant, ils s’en sont plaints au Messager d’Allah ﷺ, et les versets sur le tayammum ont été révélés. Usaid ibn Hadair رضي الله عنه a alors dit à Aïcha رضي الله عنها : « Qu’Allah te récompense ! Chaque fois que tu rencontres une difficulté, Allah en fait une bénédiction pour les musulmans. »

A'isha reported she had borrowed from Asma' (her sister) a necklace and it was lost. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent men to search for it. As it was the time for prayer, they offered prayer without ablution (as water was not available there). When they came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), they made a complaint about it, and the verses pertaining to tayammum were revealed. Upon this Usaid b. Hadair said (to 'A'isha):May Allah grant you a good reward! Never has been there an occasion when you were beset with difficulty and Allah did not make you come out of that and made it an occasion of blessing for the Muslims
