Sahih Muslim, 6707

Rapporté par Suhail b. Abi Salih : Nous étions à Arafat quand Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, qui était l’émir du Hajj, est passé. Les gens se sont levés pour le voir. J’ai dit à mon père : « Père, je pense qu’Allah aime Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz. » Il m’a demandé pourquoi. J’ai répondu : « Parce que les gens l’aiment. » Il a dit : « Par Celui qui a créé ton père, j’ai entendu Abu Huraira rapporter du Messager d’Allah ﷺ un hadith semblable à celui rapporté par Suhail. »

Suhail b. Abi Salih, reported:We were in Arafa that there happened to pass Umar b. Abd al-'Aziz and he was the Amir of Hajj. People stood up in order to catch a glimpse of him. I said to my father: Father, I think that Allah loves Umar b. Abd al- 'Aziz. He said: How is it? I said: It is because of the love in people's heart for him. Thereupon he said: By One Who created your father, I heard Abu Huraira narrating from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) a hadith like one transmitted on the authority of Suhail
