Sahih Muslim, 6448

Rapporté par Abu Bakra, d’après son père : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Que pensez-vous si Juhaina, Aslam et Ghifar étaient meilleurs que, respectivement, Banu Tamim, Banu 'Abdullah b. Ghatfan et 'Amir b. Sa'sa'a ? Quelle serait alors la situation de ces derniers ? » Il a dit cela d’une voix forte. Ils ont répondu : « Ô Messager d’Allah, ils seraient sûrement perdants et désavantagés. » Il a alors dit : « Ce premier groupe est en effet meilleur que les autres. » Et dans le hadith rapporté par Abu Kuraib, il est dit : « Si vous constatiez que Juhaina, Muzaina, Aslam et Ghifar sont meilleurs que… »

Abu Bakra reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:What is your view if Juhaina, Aslam, Ghifar were better than Banu Tamim, Banu 'Abdullah b. Ghatfan and 'Amir b. Sa'sa'a' respectively (then what would be status of the latter one)? He said this in a loud voice. They said: Allah's Messenger, they would be definitely at a loss and disadvantage. Thereupon he said: They (the first group) are decidedly better than the others; and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Abu Kuraib the words are: It you were to find that Juhaina, Muzaina and Aslam and Ghifar (are better than)
