Sahih Muslim, 4805

Rapporté par ‘Awf b. Malik al-Ashja‘i رضي الله عنه : Il a entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire : « Les meilleurs de vos dirigeants sont ceux que vous aimez et qui vous aiment, pour qui vous invoquez les bénédictions d’Allah et qui invoquent les bénédictions d’Allah pour vous. Les pires de vos dirigeants sont ceux que vous détestez et qui vous détestent, qui vous maudissent et que vous maudissez. » (Ceux qui étaient présents demandèrent : « Ne devons-nous pas les renverser dans ce cas ? ») Il répondit : « Non, tant qu’ils établissent la prière parmi vous. Non, tant qu’ils établissent la prière parmi vous. Attention ! Celui qui a un gouverneur nommé sur lui et qui voit ce gouverneur désobéir à Allah, qu’il condamne cet acte de désobéissance, mais qu’il ne se retire pas de son obéissance. » Ibn Jabir a dit : Ruzaiq m’a rapporté ce hadith. Je lui ai demandé : « Abu Miqdam, l’as-tu entendu de Muslim b. Qaraza ou bien te l’a-t-il décrit et il l’a entendu de ‘Awf (b. Malik) qui l’a transmis du Messager d’Allah ﷺ ? » Alors Ruzaiq s’est assis sur ses genoux, a fait face à la Qibla et a dit : « Par Allah, en dehors de Qui il n’y a pas d’autre dieu, je l’ai entendu de Muslim b. Qaraza, qui a dit l’avoir entendu de ‘Awf (b. Malik), qui a dit l’avoir entendu du Messager d’Allah ﷺ. »

It has been narrated on the authority of Auf b. Malik al-Ashja'i who said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, upon whom you invoke God's blessings and who invoke His blessing upon you. And the worst of your rulers are those whom you hate and who hate you, who curse you and whom you curse. (Those present) said: Shouldn't we overthrow them at this? He said: No, as long as they establish prayer among you. No, as long as they establish prayer among you. Mind you! One who has a governor appointed over him and he finds that the governor indulges in an act of disobedience to God, he should condemn the governor's act, in disobedience to God, but should not withdraw himself from his obedience. Ibn Jabir said: Ruzaiq narrated to me this hadith. I asked him: Abu Miqdam, have you heard it from Muslim b. Qaraza or did he describe it to you and he heard it from 'Auf (b. Malik) and he transmitted this tradition of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)? Upon this Ruzaiq sat upon his knees and facing the Qibla said: By Allah, besides Whom there is no other God, I heard it from Muslim b. Qaraza and he said that te had heard it from Auf (b. Malik) and he said that he had heard it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
