Sahih Muslim, 4433

Rapporté par Imran ibn Husayn : Une femme de Juhaina vint voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ alors qu’elle était enceinte à la suite d’un adultère. Elle dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah, j’ai fait quelque chose qui mérite une peine légale, alors applique-la. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ fit venir son maître et lui dit : « Traite-la bien, et quand elle aura accouché, amène-la-moi. » Il fit ainsi. Ensuite, le Messager d’Allah ﷺ prononça le jugement : ses vêtements furent attachés autour d’elle, puis il ordonna qu’elle soit lapidée. Il pria ensuite sur elle. Omar lui dit alors : « Ô Messager d’Allah, tu pries pour elle alors qu’elle a commis l’adultère ! » Il répondit : « Elle a fait un repentir tel que, s’il était partagé entre soixante-dix hommes de Médine, cela suffirait. As-tu vu un repentir meilleur que celui où elle a sacrifié sa vie pour Allah, le Majestueux ? »

Imran b. Husain reported that a woman from Juhaina came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and she had become pregnant because of adultery. She said:Allah's Apostle, I have done something for which (prescribed punishment) must be imposed upon me, so impose that. Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) called her master and said: Treat her well, and when she delivers bring her to me. He did accordingly. Then Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) pronounced judgment about her and her clothes were tied around her and then he commanded and she was stoned to death. He then prayed over her (dead body). Thereupon Umar said to him: Allah's Apostle, you offer prayer for her, whereas she had committed adultery! Thereupon he said: She has made such a repentance that if it were to be divided among seventy men of Medina, it would be enough. Have you found any repentance better than this that she sacr ficed her life for Allah, the Majestic?
