Sahih Muslim, 3633

Rapporté par ‘Ata : Alors qu’ils étaient avec Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنهما lors des funérailles de Maymouna à Sarif, Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنهما a dit : « C’est l’épouse du Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Lorsque vous porterez sa civière, ne la secouez pas et ne la brusquez pas, mais soyez doux, car le Messager d’Allah ﷺ avait neuf épouses, avec huit d’entre elles il partageait son temps, mais à l’une d’elles il n’a pas accordé de part. » ‘Ati a précisé : « Celle à qui il n’a pas accordé de part de temps était Safiyya, la fille de Huyayy b. Akhtab. »

Ata related that when they were with Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) at the funeral of Maimuna In Sarif, Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) said:This is the wife of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) ; so when you lift her bier, do not shake her or disturb her, but be gentle, for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had nine wives, with eight of whom he shared his time, but to one of them, he did not allot a share. 'Ati said: The one to whom he did not allot a share of time was Safiyya, daughter of Huyayy b. Akhtab
