Sahih Muslim, 1918

Rapporté par 'Alqama : J’ai rencontré Abu Darda’, qui m’a demandé : « De quel pays viens-tu ? » J’ai répondu : « Je viens d’Irak. » Il demanda : « De quelle ville ? » Je répondis : « De Koufa. » Il demanda : « Récites-tu selon la récitation d’Abdullah b. Mas'ud ? » J’ai répondu : « Oui. » Il dit : « Récite ce verset : “Par la nuit quand elle couvre.” » J’ai donc récité : « Par la nuit quand elle couvre, par le jour quand il brille, et par la création du mâle et de la femelle. » Il a ri et dit : « J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ réciter ainsi. »

Alqama reported:I met Abu Darda', and he said to me: To which country do you belong? I said: I am one of the people of Iraq. He again said: To which city? I replied: City of Kufa. He again said: Do you recite according to the recitation of 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud? I said: Yes. He said: Recite this verse (By the night when it covers) So I recited it: (By the night when it covers, and the day when it shines, and the creating of the male and the female). He laughed and said: I have heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reciting like this
