Sahih Muslim, 1800

Rapporté par Ibn `Abbas رضي الله عنه : J’ai passé une nuit chez ma tante maternelle Maymouna. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ s’est levé pour prier la nuit (Tahajjud). Il s’est tenu près de l’outre d’eau, a fait ses ablutions, puis s’est levé pour prier. Quand j’ai vu cela, je me suis aussi levé, j’ai fait mes ablutions à l’outre d’eau, puis je me suis mis à sa gauche. Il a pris ma main derrière son dos et m’a fait passer à sa droite. (‘Ata’, un des narrateurs, a demandé : Cela concernait-il la prière surérogatoire de la nuit ? Il (Ibn `Abbas) a répondu : Oui

Ibn `Abbas reported:I spent a night in the house of my mother's sister Maimuna. The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) got up for observing voluntary prayer (Tahajjud) at night. The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) stood by the water-skin and performed ablution and then stood up and prayed. I also got up when I saw him doing that. I also performed ablution from the water-skin and then stood at his left side. He took hold of my hand from behind his back and then turned me from his back to his right side. I (`Ata', one of the narrators) said: Did it concern the voluntary prayer (at night)? He (Ibn `Abbas) said: Yes
