Sahih Muslim, 1792

Rapporté par Ibn `Abbas رضي الله عنه : J’ai passé une nuit chez ma tante maternelle Maymouna, fille d’Al-Harith, et je lui ai dit : « Réveille-moi quand le Messager d’Allah ﷺ se lève pour prier la nuit. » (Elle m’a réveillé quand) le Messager d’Allah ﷺ s’est levé pour prier. Je me suis mis à sa gauche. Il a pris ma main et m’a fait passer à sa droite, et chaque fois que je m’assoupissais, il me tirait l’oreille pour me réveiller. (Le narrateur dit : Le Prophète ﷺ a accompli onze rak‘as. Ensuite, il s’est assis, les jambes repliées sous son vêtement, et s’est endormi si bien que j’entendais sa respiration. Quand l’aube est apparue, il a prié deux courtes rak‘as (de la Sounna)

Ibn `Abbas reported:I spent one night in the house of my mother's sister Maimuna, daughter of Al-Harith, and said to her: Awake me when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stands to pray (at night). (She woke me up when) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up for prayer. I stood on his left side. He took hold of my hand and made me stand on his right side, and whenever I dozed off he took hold of my earlobe (and made me alert). He (the narrator) said: He (the Holy Prophet) observed eleven rak`ahs. He then sat with his legs drawn and wrapped in his garment and slept so that I could hear his breathing while asleep. And when the dawn appeared, he observed two short rak`ahs of (Sunnah) prayer
