Sahih Muslim, 1766

Rapporté par Jabir رضي الله عنه : « Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : “Si quelqu’un craint de ne pas se réveiller dans la dernière partie de la nuit, qu’il fasse le Witr dans la première partie ; et si quelqu’un espère se lever à la fin de la nuit, qu’il fasse le Witr à ce moment-là, car la prière à la fin de la nuit est assistée (par les anges) et elle est meilleure.” »

Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:If anyone is afraid that he may not get up in the latter part of the night, he should observe Witr in the first part of it; and if anyone is eager to get up in the last part of it, he should observe Witr at the end of the night, for prayer at the end of the night is witnessed (by the angels) and that is preferable
