وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّاسَ، كَانُوا إِذَا رَمَوُا الْجِمَارَ مَشَوْا ذَاهِبِينَ وَرَاجِعِينَ وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ رَكِبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ‏.‏

Abdel Rahman Ibn Al-Kassem a rapporté que son père a dit: «Une fois que les gens jetaient les cailloux, sur les jamarates, ils étaient dans un va et vient, en marchant; quant à Mou'awia Ibn Abi Soufian, il était le premier à faire le parcours, tout en étant sur sa monture»

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd ar-Rahman ibn Qasim from his father that when people went to stone the jamras they would walk both going there and coming back. The first one to ride was Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan
