Abou Souhail Ibn Malek a rapporté que son père a dit: «on fit le deuxième appel à la prière au moment où j'étais avec Osman Ibn Affan, lui demandant une aide financière. Je ne cessais de lui parler, quant à lui, il essuyait le sable de par ses chaussures, quand vinrent les hommes dont il a chargés d'égaliser les rangs, l'informer que ces derniers le sont déjà; Osman me dit: «mets-toi en rang, puis il fit le takbir».
