{Nafe' a rapporté que Abdallah Ibn Omar, à chaque fois qu'il voyait quelqu'un de sa famille, jouer au dés, il le frappait et cassait le dés. - Yahia a rapporté qu'il a entendu Malek dire: «Aucun bien dans le jeu de dés»; et il le répugnait. Je l'ai encore entendu dire, qu'il détestait le jeu des échecs, et tout autre jeu qui n'est que futilité, et récitait le verset qui suit: } فَذَلِكُمُ اللّهُ رَبُّكُمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلاَّ الضَّلاَلُ فَأَنَّى تُصْرَفُونَ { «Qu'y a-t-il en dehors de la vérité, sinon l'erreur»? Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that when he found one of his family playing dice he beat him and destroyed the dice. Yahya said that he heard Malik say, "There is no good in chess, and he disapproved of it." Yahya said, "I heard him disapprove of playing it and other worthless games. He recited this ayat, 'What is there after the truth except going the wrong way.' " (Sura l0 ayat)
