Al-Muwatta de Malik, 1393

On rapporta à Malek que Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf avait loué une terre; il la garda ainsi jusqu'à sa mort. Son fils a dit: «Je pensais que nous la possédions à cause de longue période pour laquelle elle était avec nous, jusqu'à ce que mon père nous l'ai mentionné juste à sa mort; ainsi, il nous ordonna de payer la location qu'il devait, en or ou en argent»

Malik related to me that he had heard that Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf rented land, and he continued to have it in his possession until he died. His son said, "I thought that it was ours because of the length of time which it had remained in his hands, until he mentioned it to us at his death. He ordered us to pay some rent which he owed in gold or silver
