Sunan Ibn Majah, 3360

Rapporté par Safinah, Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman : Un homme a rendu visite à ‘Ali bin Abu Talib et il a préparé de la nourriture pour lui. Fatimah a dit : « Pourquoi n’invitons-nous pas le Prophète (ﷺ) à manger avec nous ? » Ils l’ont donc invité et il est venu. Il a posé sa main sur le montant de la porte et a vu un rideau fin dans un coin de la maison, alors il est reparti. Fatimah a dit à ‘Ali : « Va le rattraper et demande-lui : “Qu’est-ce qui t’a fait repartir, ô Messager d’Allah ?” » Il a répondu : « Je n’entre pas dans une maison trop décorée. »

Safinah, Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman, narrated that a man visited ‘Ali bin Abu Talib and he made some food for him.* Fatimah said:“Why don’t we invite the Prophet (ﷺ) to eat with us?” So they invited him and he came. He put his hand on the doorpost of the house and saw a thin curtain in the corner of the house, so he went back. Fatimah said to ‘Ali: “Go and catch up with him, and ask him: ‘What made you go back, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “I do not enter a well-decorated house.”
