Sunan Ibn Majah, 2726

Rapporté par Ma’dan bin Abu Talhah Al-Ya’muri : ‘Umar bin Khattab s’est levé pour faire un sermon un vendredi, ou il s’est adressé à eux un vendredi. Il a loué et glorifié Allah, puis a dit : “Par Allah, je ne laisse derrière moi aucun problème plus difficile que celui de quelqu’un qui laisse un héritier. J’ai interrogé le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), et il ne m’a jamais parlé aussi durement de quoi que ce soit que de cela. Il m’a enfoncé son doigt dans le côté ou la poitrine et a dit : ‘Ô ‘Umar, il te suffit du verset qui a été révélé en été, à la fin de la sourate An-Nisa’.”

It was narrated from Ma’dan bin Abu Talhah Al-Ya’muri that ‘Umar bin Khattab stood up to deliver a sermon one Friday, or he addressed them one Friday. He praised and glorified Allah, and said:“By Allah, I am not leaving behind any problem more difficult than the one who leaves behind an heir. I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he never spoke so harshly to me about anything as he spoke to me about this. He jabbed his finger into my side or my chest and said: ‘O ‘Umar, sufficient for you is the Verse that was revealed in summer, at the end of Surat An-Nisa’.”
