Sunan Ibn Majah, 2649

Rapporté par Anas : Rubai, la tante paternelle d’Anas, a cassé la dent d’une fille et ils (sa famille) ont demandé (à la famille de la fille) de lui pardonner, mais ils ont refusé. Ils ont proposé de payer une compensation, mais ils ont refusé. Alors ils sont allés voir le Prophète (ﷺ) qui a ordonné la représaille. Anas bin Nadr a dit : “Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), la dent de Rubai va-t-elle être cassée ? Par Celui qui t’a envoyé avec la vérité, elle ne sera pas cassée !” Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : “Ô Anas, ce qu’Allah a décrété, c’est la représaille.” Alors les gens ont accepté et lui ont pardonné. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : “Il y a parmi les serviteurs d’Allah ceux qui, s’ils jurent par Allah, Allah exauce leur serment.”

It was narrated that Anas said:“Rubai, the paternal aunt of Anas, broke the tooth of a girl and they (her family) asked (the girl's family) to let her off, but they refused. They offered to pay compensatory money, but they refused. So they came to Prophet (ﷺ) who ordered retaliation. Anas bin Nadr said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), will the tooth of Rubai' be broken? By the One Who sent you with the truth, it will not be broken!' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'O Anas, what Allah has decreed is retaliation.' So the people accepted that and forgave her. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'there are among the slaves of Allah those who, if they swear by Allah, Allah fulfills their oath.'”
