Sunan Ibn Majah, 23

Rapporté par Amr bin Maimun : "J’avais l’habitude de rendre visite à Ibn Mas'ud chaque jeudi après-midi, mais il ne disait jamais : 'Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit.' Puis un soir, il a dit : 'Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit,' puis il a baissé la tête." Il a dit : "Je l’ai regardé et j’ai vu que sa chemise était ouverte ; ses yeux étaient remplis de larmes, et ses veines étaient gonflées (de crainte). Il a dit : 'Ou plus que cela, ou moins que cela, ou quelque chose de proche ou de similaire

Amr bin Maimun said :"I used to visit Ibn Mas'ud every Thursday afternoon but he never uttered the words: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said.' Then one evening, he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,' then he let his head hang down." He said: "I looked at him and saw his shirt was unfastened; his eyes were filled with tears, and his veins were bulging out (with fear). He said:' Or more than that, or less than that, or close to that or something similar
