Sunan Ibn Majah, 1853

Rapporté par Abdullah bin Abu Awfa : Lorsque Muadh bin Jabal est revenu du Sham, il s’est prosterné devant le Prophète ﷺ, qui lui a dit : « Qu’est-ce que c’est, ô Muadh ? » Il a répondu : « Je suis allé au Sham et j’ai vu les gens se prosterner devant leurs évêques et leurs notables, et j’ai voulu faire de même pour toi. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Ne fais pas cela. Si j’avais dû ordonner à quelqu’un de se prosterner devant un autre qu’Allah, j’aurais ordonné aux femmes de se prosterner devant leurs maris. Par Celui qui détient l’âme de Muhammad dans Sa main ! Aucune femme ne peut accomplir son devoir envers Allah tant qu’elle n’a pas accompli son devoir envers son mari. S’il lui demande (l’intimité), même si elle est sur sa selle de chameau, elle ne doit pas refuser. »

It was narrated that:Abdullah bin Abu Awfa said “When Muadh bin Jabal came from Sham, he prostrated to the Prophet who said: 'What is this, O Muadh?' He said: 'I went to Sham and saw them prostrating to their bishops and patricians and I wanted to do that for you.' The messenger of Allah said: 'Do not do that. If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone other than Allah, I would have commanded women to prostrate to their husbands. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! No woman can fulfill her duty towards Allah until she fulfills her duty towards her husband. If he asks her (for intimacy) even if she is on her camel saddle, she should not refuse.' ”
