Sunan Ibn Majah, 1771

Rapporté par ‘Aishah : Quand le Prophète (ﷺ) voulait commencer l’I’tikaf, il priait la prière du matin, puis il entrait dans l’endroit où il voulait faire l’I’tikaf. Il voulait passer les dix derniers jours du Ramadan en I’tikaf, alors il a demandé qu’on lui installe une tente. ‘Aishah a aussi demandé qu’on lui installe une tente, et Hafsa également. Quand Zainab a vu leurs deux tentes, elle a aussi demandé qu’on lui en installe une. Quand le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a vu cela, il a dit : “Est-ce la piété que vous cherchez ?” Ensuite, il n’a pas fait l’I’tikaf pendant le Ramadan, mais il l’a fait pendant dix jours de Shawwal

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:“When the Prophet (ﷺ) wanted to start I’tikaf, he would pray the Subh, then he would enter the place where he wanted to observe I’tikaf. He wanted to spend the last ten days of Ramadan in I’tikaf, so he ordered that a tent be set up for him.” Then ‘Aishah ordered that a tent be set up for her, and Hafash ordered that a tent be set up for her. When Zainab saw their two tents, she also ordered that a tent be set up for her. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw that, he said: “It is righteousness that you seek?” Then he did not observe I’tikaf during Ramadan, and he observed I’tikaf during ten days of Shawwal
