Sunan Ibn Majah, 1652

Rapporté par Ibn ‘Abbas : Un bédouin est venu voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et a dit : « J’ai vu le nouveau croissant de lune cette nuit. » Il lui a demandé : « Attestes-tu qu’il n’y a de divinité digne d’adoration qu’Allah et que Muhammad est le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ? » Il a répondu : « Oui. » Il a dit : « Lève-toi, ô Bilal, et annonce aux gens qu’ils doivent jeûner demain. » Abu ‘Ali a dit : « C’est ainsi que cela a été rapporté de Walid bin Abu Thawr et Hasan bin ‘Ali. Cela a aussi été rapporté de Hammad bin Salamah, mais il n’a pas mentionné Ibn ‘Abbas. Il a dit : “Et il a annoncé qu’ils devaient faire la prière et jeûner.” »

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:“A Bedouin came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘I have seen the new crescent tonight.’ He said: ‘Do you bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Get up, O Bilal, and announce to the people that they should fast tomorrow.’” Abu 'Ali said: "This is how it was narrated from Walid bin Abu Thawr and Hasan bin 'Ali.
