Sunan Ibn Majah, 1621

Rapporté par ‘Aishah : Les femmes du Prophète (ﷺ) se sont réunies, aucune n'est restée en arrière. Fatimah est venue, et sa démarche ressemblait à celle du Messager d'Allah (ﷺ). Il a dit : « Bienvenue à ma fille. » Puis il l'a fait asseoir à sa gauche, lui a soufflé quelque chose à l'oreille, et elle a souri. Je lui ai demandé : « Qu'est-ce qui t'a fait pleurer ? » Elle a répondu : « Je ne révélerai pas le secret du Messager d'Allah (ﷺ). » J'ai dit : « Je n'ai jamais vu la joie si proche de la tristesse comme aujourd'hui. » Quand elle a pleuré, j'ai dit : « Le Messager d'Allah (ﷺ) t'a-t-il dit quelque chose de spécial qui n'était pas pour nous, et tu as pleuré ? » Je l'ai interrogée sur ses paroles. Elle a répondu : « Je ne révélerai pas le secret du Messager d'Allah (ﷺ). » Après sa mort, je lui ai demandé ce qu'il avait dit, et elle a répondu : « Il m'a dit que Jibra’il révisait le Coran avec lui une fois par an, mais cette année-là, il l'avait révisé deux fois, (et il a dit :) “Je pense que mon heure approche. Tu seras la première de ma famille à me rejoindre, et quel bon prédécesseur je suis pour toi.” Alors j'ai pleuré. Puis il m'a soufflé à l'oreille : “N'es-tu pas heureuse d'être la cheffe des femmes de cette communauté ?” Alors j'ai souri. »

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:“The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) gathered together and not one of them lagged behind. Fatimah came, and her gait was like that of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said, ‘Welcome to my daughter.’ Then he made her sit to his left, and he whispered something to her, and she smiled. I said to her: ‘What made you weep?’ She said: ‘I will not disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).’ I said: ‘I never saw joy so close to grief as I saw today.’ When she wept I said: ‘Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) tell you some special words that were not for us, then you wept?’ And I asked her about what he had said. She said: ‘I will not disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).’ After he died I asked her what he had said, and she said: ‘He told me that Jibra’il used to review the Qur’an with him once each year, but he had reviewed it with him twice that year, (and he said:) “I do not think but that my time is near. You will be the first of my family to join me, and what a good predecessor I am for you.” So I wept. Then he whispered to me and said: “Will you not be pleased to be the leader of the women of this Ummah?” So I smiled.’”
