Sunan Ibn Majah, 1159

Rapporté par ‘Abdullah bin Harith : Mu‘awiyah a envoyé un message à Umm Salamah, et je suis allé avec son émissaire qui a posé la question à Umm Salamah. Elle a dit : « Pendant que le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) faisait ses ablutions pour le Zuhr dans ma maison et qu’il avait envoyé un Sa‘i, les Muhajirun se sont rassemblés autour de lui en grand nombre, et il était occupé avec eux. Quand quelqu’un a frappé à la porte, il est sorti, a fait le Zuhr, puis s’est assis et a distribué ce qu’on lui avait apporté. » Elle a ajouté : « Il a continué ainsi jusqu’à l’Asr. Ensuite, il est revenu dans ma maison et a fait deux Rak‘a. Puis il a dit : “L’affaire du Sa‘i m’a empêché de les prier après le Zuhr, alors je les ai faites après l’Asr.” »

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Harith said:“Mu’awiyah sent word to Umm Salamah, and I went with his envoy who put the question to Umm Salamah. She said: ‘While the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was performing ablution for the Zuhr in my house and he had sent a Sa’i,* the Muhajirun gathered around him in large numbers, and he was busy dealing with them. When a knock on the door came, he went out and performed the Zuhr, then he sat and distributed what had been brought to him.’ She said: ‘He continued doing that until the ‘Asr. Then he came into my house and performed two Rak’ah. Then he said: “The matter of the Sa’i kept me from praying them after Zuhr, so I prayed them after ‘Asr.”
