Holding Fast to the Qur'an and Sunnah

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدٌ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، يَخْطُبُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ، وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَيُعْطِي اللَّهُ، وَلَنْ يَزَالَ أَمْرُ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ مُسْتَقِيمًا حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ، أَوْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ ".
Rapporté par Humaid : J'ai entendu Muawiya bin Abi Sufyan prononcer un sermon. Il a dit : « J'ai entendu le Prophète (ﷺ) dire : Si Allah veut accorder une faveur à quelqu'un, Il lui donne la compréhension du Coran et de la Sunna. Je ne suis qu'un distributeur, et Allah est Celui qui donne. L'état de cette communauté restera bon jusqu'à l'Heure, ou jusqu'à ce qu'Allah en décide autrement. »Narrated Humaid:I heard Muawiya bin Abi Sufyan delivering a sermon. He said, "I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "If Allah wants to do a favor to somebody, He bestows on him, the gift of understanding the Qur'an and Sunna. I am but a distributor, and Allah is the Giver.
