Sahih al-Bukhari, 7303

Rapporté par ‘Aisha (la mère des croyants) : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), pendant sa maladie mortelle, a dit : « Ordonnez à Abou Bakr de diriger la prière pour les gens. » J’ai dit : « Si Abou Bakr se tient à ta place pour la prière, les gens ne pourront pas l’entendre à cause de ses pleurs. Ordonne plutôt à ‘Umar de diriger la prière. » Il a répété : « Ordonnez à Abou Bakr de diriger la prière pour les gens. » J’ai alors dit à Hafsa : « Peux-tu dire au Prophète : ‘Si Abou Bakr se tient à ta place, les gens ne pourront pas l’entendre à cause de ses pleurs. Ordonne plutôt à ‘Umar de diriger la prière’ ? » Hafsa l’a fait, et le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Vous êtes comme les compagnes de Joseph (voir Coran, 12:30-32). Ordonnez à Abou Bakr de diriger la prière pour les gens. » Hafsa m’a alors dit : « Je n’ai jamais rien reçu de bon de ta part. »

Narrated `Aisha:(the mother of believers) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) during his fatal ailment said, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." I said, "If Abu Bakr stood at your place (in prayers, the people will not be able to hear him because of his weeping, so order `Umar to lead the people in prayer." He again said, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer " Then I said to Hafsa, "Will you say (to the Prophet), 'If Abu Bakr stood at your place, the people will not be able to hear him be cause of his weeping, so order `Umar to lead the people in prayer?" Hafsa did so, whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "You are like the companions of Joseph (See Qur'an, 12:30-32). Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."
