Sahih al-Bukhari, 7084

Rapporté par Hudhayfa ibn Al-Yaman : Les gens demandaient au Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) des informations sur le bien, mais moi je lui demandais au sujet du mal, de peur d’y être confronté. J’ai donc dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Nous vivions dans l’ignorance et dans une situation très difficile, puis Allah nous a apporté ce bien (c’est-à-dire l’islam) ; y aura-t-il un mal après ce bien ? » Il a dit : « Oui. » J’ai demandé : « Y aura-t-il un bien après ce mal ? » Il a répondu : « Oui, mais il sera entaché (il ne sera pas pur). » J’ai demandé : « Quelle sera cette imperfection ? » Il a répondu : « (Il y aura) des gens qui guideront les autres sans suivre ma tradition. Tu approuveras certains de leurs actes et tu en désapprouveras d’autres. » J’ai demandé : « Y aura-t-il un mal après ce bien ? » Il a répondu : « Oui, (il y aura) des gens qui appelleront aux portes du Feu, et quiconque répondra à leur appel sera jeté par eux dans le Feu. » J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah ! Peux-tu nous les décrire ? » Il a dit : « Ils seront de notre peuple et parleront notre langue. » J’ai demandé : « Que m’ordonnes-tu de faire si cela arrive de mon vivant ? » Il a dit : « Attache-toi au groupe des musulmans et à leur imam (chef). » J’ai demandé : « Et s’il n’y a ni groupe de musulmans ni imam ? » Il a dit : « Éloigne-toi de tous ces groupes, même si tu dois mordre (manger) les racines d’un arbre jusqu’à ce que la mort te surprenne dans cet état. »

Narrated Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman:The people used to ask Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the good but I used to ask him about the evil lest I should be overtaken by them. So I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We were living in ignorance and in an (extremely) worst atmosphere, then Allah brought to us this good (i.e., Islam); will there be any evil after this good?" He said, "Yes." I said, 'Will there be any good after that evil?" He replied, "Yes, but it will be tainted (not pure.)'' I asked, "What will be its taint?" He replied, "(There will be) some people who will guide others not according to my tradition? You will approve of some of their deeds and disapprove of some others." I asked, "Will there be any evil after that good?" He replied, "Yes, (there will be) some people calling at the gates of the (Hell) Fire, and whoever will respond to their call, will be thrown by them into the (Hell) Fire." I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Will you describe them to us?" He said, "They will be from our own people and will speak our language." I said, "What do you order me to do if such a state should take place in my life?" He said, "Stick to the group of Muslims and their Imam (ruler)." I said, "If there is neither a group of Muslims nor an Imam (ruler)?" He said, "Then turn away from all those sects even if you were to bite (eat) the roots of a tree till death overtakes you while you are in that state
