Sahih al-Bukhari, 6903

Rapporté par Ash-Shu`bi : J'ai entendu Abu Juhaifa dire : « J'ai demandé à `Ali : “As-tu reçu une révélation en dehors du Coran ?” (Une autre fois, il a dit : “…en dehors de ce que les gens ont ?”) `Ali a répondu : “Par Celui qui fait germer la graine et qui a créé l’âme, nous n’avons rien d’autre que ce qui est dans le Coran, la capacité de comprendre le Livre d’Allah que Celui-ci accorde à certains, et ce qui est écrit sur ce feuillet.” J’ai demandé : “Qu’est-ce qui est écrit sur ce feuillet ?” Il a répondu : “Al-`Aql (la règle sur le Diya), la rançon des prisonniers, et la décision qu’un musulman ne doit pas être tué en représailles pour avoir tué un non-croyant.” »

Narrated Ash-Shu`bi:I heard Abu Juhaifa saying, "I asked `Ali 'Have you got any Divine literature apart from the Qur'an?' (Once he said...apart from what the people have?) `Ali replied, 'By Him Who made the grain split (germinate) and created the soul, we have nothing except what is in the Qur'an and the ability (gift) of understanding Allah's Book which He may endow a man with and we have what is written in this paper.' I asked, 'What is written in this paper?' He replied, 'Al-`Aql (the regulation of Diya), about the ransom of captives, and the Judgment that a Muslim should not be killed in Qisas (equality in punishment) for killing a disbeliever."
