Sahih al-Bukhari, 6897

Rapporté par `Aisha : Nous avons fait prendre un médicament à la bouche du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) pendant sa maladie, et il nous a fait signe pour dire : « Ne me faites pas prendre de médicament. » Nous avons pensé qu’il refusait simplement parce que les malades n’aiment pas les médicaments. Quand il s’est senti un peu mieux, il nous a dit : « Ne vous ai-je pas interdit de me faire prendre ce médicament ? » Nous avons répondu : « Nous avons cru que c’était parce que, comme tout malade, tu n’aimais pas ça. » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Chacun de vous devra boire ce médicament, et je vous regarderai, sauf Al-`Abbas, car il n’a pas assisté à ce que vous avez fait. »

Narrated `Aisha:We poured medicine into the mouth of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) during his illness, and he pointed out to us intending to say, "Don't pour medicine into my mouth." We thought that his refusal was out of the aversion a patient usually has for medicine. When he improved and felt a bit better he said (to us.) "Didn't I forbid you to pour medicine into my mouth?" We said, "We thought (you did so) because of the aversion, one usually have for medicine." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "There is none of you but will be forced to drink medicine, and I will watch you, except Al-`Abbas, for he did not witness this act of yours
