Sahih al-Bukhari, 6245

Rapporté par Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri : Alors que j’étais présent dans une des assemblées des Ansar, Abu Musa est arrivé, l’air inquiet, et a dit : « J’ai demandé la permission d’entrer chez `Umar trois fois, mais on ne me l’a pas donnée, alors je suis reparti. » (Quand `Umar l’a appris) il a dit à Abu Musa : « Pourquoi n’es-tu pas entré ? » Abu Musa a répondu : « J’ai demandé la permission trois fois, et comme on ne me l’a pas donnée, je suis reparti, car le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : ‘Si l’un de vous demande la permission d’entrer trois fois et qu’on ne la lui donne pas, il doit repartir.’ » `Umar a dit : « Par Allah ! Nous allons demander à Abu Musa d’apporter des témoins. » (Abu Musa est allé voir une assemblée des Ansar et a dit) : « Est-ce que l’un de vous a entendu cela du Prophète (ﷺ) ? » Ubai bin Ka`b a dit : « Par Allah, personne n’ira avec toi sauf le plus jeune d’entre nous (comme témoin). » (J’étais le plus jeune, alors je suis allé avec Abu Musa et j’ai informé `Umar que le Prophète (ﷺ) avait bien dit cela

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:While I was present in one of the gatherings of the Ansar, Abu Musa came as if he was scared, and said, "I asked permission to enter upon `Umar three times, but I was not given the permission, so I returned." (When `Umar came to know about it) he said to Abu Musa, "Why did you not enter?'. Abu Musa replied, "I asked permission three times, and I was not given it, so I returned, for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "If anyone of you asks the permission to enter thrice, and the permission is not given, then he should return.' " `Umar said, "By Allah! We will ask Abu Musa to bring witnesses for it." (Abu Musa went to a gathering of the Ansar and said). "Did anyone of you hear this from the Prophet (ﷺ) ?" Ubai bin Ka`b said, "By Allah, none will go with you but the youngest of the people (as a witness)." (Abu Sa`id) was the youngest of them, so I went with Abu Musa and informed `Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) had said so. (See Hadith No. 277, Vol)
