Sahih al-Bukhari, 5841

Rapporté par `Abdullah bin `Umar : `Umar a vu un habit en soie en vente et a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Pourquoi ne l’achètes-tu pas pour le porter quand des délégations viennent te voir, et aussi le vendredi ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a répondu : « Cela n’est porté que par celui qui n’aura aucune part dans l’au-delà. » Plus tard, le Prophète (ﷺ) a envoyé à `Umar un habit en soie adapté pour être porté. `Umar a dit au Prophète : « Tu me l’as donné pour que je le porte, alors que je t’ai entendu dire ce que tu as dit à son sujet ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a répondu : « Je te l’ai envoyé pour que tu puisses soit le vendre, soit le donner à quelqu’un d’autre pour qu’il le porte. »

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:`Umar saw a silk suit being sold, so he said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Why don't you buy it so that you may wear it when delegates come to you, and also on Fridays?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "This is worn only by him who has no share in the Hereafter." Afterwards the Prophet (ﷺ) sent to `Umar a silk suit suitable for wearing. `Umar said to the Prophet, "You have given it to me to wear, yet I have heard you saying about it what you said?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I sent it to you so that you might either sell it or give it to somebody else to wear
