Rapporté par Al-Bara' : J'ai entendu le Prophète (ﷺ) prononcer un sermon, et il a dit, le jour de l'`Id-Allah : « La première chose que nous ferons aujourd'hui, c'est de prier la prière de l'`Id, puis nous retournerons pour faire nos sacrifices. Celui qui agit ainsi suit notre tradition. Mais celui qui a sacrifié avant la prière, ce qu'il a offert n'est qu'une viande qu'il a donnée à sa famille, ce n'est pas un sacrifice. » Abu Burda s'est levé et a dit : « Ô Messager d'Allah (ﷺ) ! J'ai sacrifié avant la prière et j'ai un Jadha'a qui vaut mieux qu'une vieille brebis. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Sacrifie-le pour compenser, mais cela ne suffira pour personne d'autre après toi. »

Narrated Al-Bara':I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering a sermon, and he said (on the Day of `Id-Allah. a), "The first thing we will do on this day of ours is that we will offer the `Id prayer, then we will return and slaughter our sacrifices; and whoever does so, then indeed he has followed our tradition, and whoever slaughtered his sacrifice (before the prayer), what he offered was just meat that he presented to his family, and that was not a sacrifice." Abu Burda got up and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I slaughtered the sacrifice before the prayer and I have got a Jadha'a which is better than an old sheep."
