Sahih al-Bukhari, 5372

Rapporté par Umm Habiba (l’épouse du Prophète) : J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Veux-tu épouser ma sœur, la fille d’Abu Sufyan ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Est-ce que tu aimerais cela ? » J’ai répondu : « Oui, car je ne suis pas ta seule épouse, et la personne avec qui j’aimerais le plus partager le bien, c’est ma sœur. » Il a dit : « Cela ne m’est pas permis. » J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Nous avons entendu dire que tu veux épouser Durra, la fille d’Abu Salama. » Il a dit : « Tu veux dire la fille d’Umm Salama ? » J’ai répondu : « Oui. » Il a dit : « Même si elle n’était pas ma belle-fille, elle ne m’est pas permise, car c’est ma nièce de lait. Thuwaiba nous a allaités, Abu Salama et moi. Donc, ne me proposez pas vos filles et sœurs. » Rapporté par ‘Urwa : Thuwaiba était une esclave qu’Abu Lahab avait affranchie

Narrated Um Habiba:(the wife of the Prophet) I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Will you marry my sister, the daughter of Abu Sufyan." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do you like that?" I said, "Yes, for I am not your only wife, and the person I like most to share the good with me, is my sister." He said, "That is not lawful for me." I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We have heard that you want to marry Durra, the daughter of Abu Salama." He said, "You mean the daughter of Um Salama?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Even if she were not my stepdaughter, she is unlawful for me, for she is my foster niece. Thuwaiba suckled me and Abu Salama. So you should not present to me your daughters and sisters." Narrated 'Urwa: Thuwaiba had been a slave girl whom Abu Lahab had emancipated
