Sahih al-Bukhari, 5334

Rapporté par Humaid bin Nafi` : Zainab bint Abu Salama m'a raconté ces trois récits : Zainab a dit : Je suis allée voir Um Habiba, l'épouse du Prophète (ﷺ), quand son père, Abu Sufyan bin Harb, était décédé. Um Habiba a demandé un parfum qui contenait une senteur jaune (Khaluq) ou un autre parfum, et elle a d'abord parfumé une des filles avec, puis elle s'en est mis sur les joues et a dit : « Par Allah, je n'ai pas besoin de parfum, mais j'ai entendu le Messager d'Allah (ﷺ) dire : Il n'est pas permis à une femme qui croit en Allah et au Jour dernier de porter le deuil pour un défunt plus de trois jours, sauf pour son mari, pour qui elle doit porter le deuil pendant quatre mois et dix jours. »

Narrated Humaid bin Nafi`:Zainab bint Abu Salama told me these three narrations: Zainab said: I went to Um Habiba, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) when her father, Abu- Sufyan bin Herb had died. Um ,Habiba asked for a perfume which contained yellow scent (Khaluq) or some other scent, and she first perfumed one of the girls with it and then rubbed her cheeks with it and said, "By Allah, I am not in need of perfume, but I have heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, 'It is not lawful for a lady who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for a dead person for more than three days unless he is her husband for whom she should mourn for four months and ten days
