Sahih al-Bukhari, 4484

Rapporté par `Aisha : (L’épouse du Prophète) Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Ne vois-tu pas que lorsque ton peuple a construit la Ka`ba, ils ne l’ont pas bâtie sur toutes les fondations d’Abraham ? » J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Pourquoi ne la reconstruis-tu pas sur les fondations d’Abraham ? » Il a dit : « Si ton peuple n’était pas si proche de la période de l’ignorance (c’est-à-dire la période entre leur conversion à l’islam et leur idolâtrie), je l’aurais fait. » Le sous-narrateur, `Abdullah bin `Umar, a dit : « `Aisha avait sûrement entendu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) dire cela, car je pense que le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ne touchait pas les deux coins de la Ka`ba faisant face à Al-Hijr sauf parce que la Ka`ba n’était pas construite sur toutes les fondations d’Abraham. »

Narrated `Aisha:(The wife of the Prophet) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Don't you see that when your people built the Ka`ba, they did not build it on all Abraham's foundations?" I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Why don't you rebuild it on Abraham's foundations?" He said, "Were your people not so close to (the period of Heathenism, i.e. the Period between their being Muslims and being infidels), I would do so." The sub-narrator, `Abdullah bin `Umar said, "Aisha had surely heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying that, for I do not think that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) left touching the two corners of the Ka`ba facing Al-Hijr except because the Ka`ba was not built on all Abraham's foundations
