حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ ‏ "‏ أَنْتُمْ خَيْرُ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَكُنَّا أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعَمِائَةٍ، وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أُبْصِرُ الْيَوْمَ لأَرَيْتُكُمْ مَكَانَ الشَّجَرَةِ‏.‏ تَابَعَهُ الأَعْمَشُ سَمِعَ سَالِمًا سَمِعَ جَابِرًا أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعَمِائَةٍ‏.‏

Rapporté par Jabir bin `Abdullah : Le jour d’Al-Hudaibiya, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) nous a dit : « Vous êtes les meilleures personnes sur terre ! » Nous étions alors 1400. Si je pouvais voir maintenant, je vous montrerais l’endroit de l’Arbre (sous lequel nous avons prêté allégeance). » Salim a dit : « Nous étions... »
