Sahih al-Bukhari, 4049

Rapporté par Zaid bin Thabit : Lorsque nous avons écrit le Saint Coran, il me manquait un verset de la sourate Al-Ahzab que j’avais entendu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) réciter. Nous l’avons cherché et nous l’avons trouvé auprès de Khuza`ima bin Thabit Al-Ansari. Le verset était : « Parmi les croyants, il y a des hommes qui ont tenu fidèlement leur engagement envers Allah. Certains d’entre eux ont accompli leur promesse envers Allah (c’est-à-dire qu’ils ont été tués dans la voie d’Allah), et d’autres attendent encore. » (33.23) Nous l’avons donc écrit à sa place dans le Coran

Narrated Zaid bin Thabit:When we wrote the Holy Qur'an, I missed one of the Verses of Surat-al-Ahzab which I used to hear Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) reciting. Then we searched for it and found it with Khuza`ima bin Thabit Al-Ansari. The Verse was:-- 'Among the Believers are men Who have been true to Their Covenant with Allah, Of them, some have fulfilled Their obligations to Allah (i.e. they have been Killed in Allah's Cause), And some of them are (still) waiting" (33.23) So we wrote this in its place in the Qur'an
