Sahih al-Bukhari, 4007

Rapporté par Az-Zuhri : J’ai entendu `Urwa bin Az-Zubair parler à `Umar bin `Abdul `Aziz pendant qu’il était gouverneur à Médine. Il a dit : « Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba a retardé la prière de l’Asr quand il était gouverneur de Koufa. À ce moment-là, Abu Mas`ud, `Uqba bin `Amr Al-Ansari, le grand-père de Zaid bin Hasan, qui était l’un des combattants de Badr, est venu et a dit (à Al-Mughira) : “Tu sais que Gabriel est descendu et a dirigé la prière, et le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a accompli les cinq prières obligatoires, et Gabriel a dit (au Prophète (ﷺ)) : ‘J’ai reçu l’ordre de faire ainsi (c’est-à-dire de prier ces cinq prières à ces heures précises de la journée).’” »

Narrated Az-Zuhri:I heard `Urwa bin Az-Zubair talking to `Umar bin `Abdul `Aziz during the latter's Governorship (at Medina), he said, "Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba delayed the `Asr prayer when he was the ruler of Al-Kufa. On that, Abu Mas`ud. `Uqba bin `Amr Al-Ansari, the grand-father of Zaid bin Hasan, who was one of the Badr warriors, came in and said, (to Al-Mughira), 'You know that Gabriel came down and offered the prayer and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) prayed five prescribed prayers, and Gabriel said (to the Prophet (ﷺ) ), "I have been ordered to do so (i.e. offer these five prayers at these fixed stated hours of the day)
