Sahih al-Bukhari, 3635

Rapporté par `Abdullah bin `Umar : Les Juifs sont venus voir le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et lui ont dit qu’un homme et une femme parmi eux avaient commis un acte sexuel interdit. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) leur a dit : « Que trouvez-vous dans la Torah à propos de la punition légale du Rajm (la lapidation) ? » Ils ont répondu : « Nous annonçons leur crime et nous les fouettons. » `Abdullah bin Salam a dit : « Vous mentez ; la Torah contient l’ordre de la lapidation. » Ils ont apporté la Torah et l’ont ouverte, et l’un d’eux a posé sa main sur le verset du Rajm et a lu les versets avant et après. `Abdullah bin Salam lui a dit : « Lève ta main. » Quand il a levé la main, le verset du Rajm était écrit là. Ils ont dit : « Muhammad a dit la vérité ; la Torah contient le verset du Rajm. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a alors ordonné que tous deux soient lapidés. (`Abdullah bin `Umar a dit : « J’ai vu l’homme se pencher sur la femme pour la protéger des pierres. »)

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:The Jews came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and told him that a man and a woman from amongst them had committed illegal sexual intercourse. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to them, "What do you find in the Torah (old Testament) about the legal punishment of Ar-Rajm (stoning)?" They replied, (But) we announce their crime and lash them." `Abdullah bin Salam said, "You are telling a lie; Torah contains the order of Rajm." They brought and opened the Torah and one of them placed his hand on the Verse of Rajm and read the verses preceding and following it. `Abdullah bin Salam said to him, "Lift your hand." When he lifted his hand, the Verse of Rajm was written there. They said, "Muhammad has told the truth; the Torah has the Verse of Rajm. The Prophet (ﷺ) then gave the order that both of them should be stoned to death. (`Abdullah bin `Umar said, "I saw the man leaning over the woman to shelter her from the stones)
