Sahih al-Bukhari, 3627

Rapporté par Sa`id bin Jubair, au sujet d’Ibn `Abbas : `Umar bin Al-Khattab traitait Ibn `Abbas avec beaucoup de faveur. `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf lui a dit : « Nous avons aussi des fils qui lui sont égaux (mais tu lui accordes une préférence). » `Umar a répondu : « C’est à cause de sa connaissance. » Puis `Umar a demandé à Ibn `Abbas l’interprétation du verset : « Quand vient le secours d’Allah et la victoire (de La Mecque) » (110.1). Ibn `Abbas a dit : « Cela annonçait la mort du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), qu’Allah lui avait annoncée. » `Umar a dit : « Je ne comprends de ce verset que ce que tu comprends. »

Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair:About Ibn `Abbas: `Umar bin Al-Khattab used to treat Ibn `Abbas very favorably `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf said to him. "We also have sons that are equal to him (but you are partial to him.)" `Umar said, "It is because of his knowledge." Then `Umar asked Ibn `Abbas about the interpretation of the Verse:- 'When come the Help of Allah and the conquest (of Mecca) (110.1) Ibn `Abbas said. "It portended the death of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), which Allah had informed him of." `Umar said, "I do not know from this Verse but what you know
