Sahih al-Bukhari, 3584

Rapporté par Jabir bin `Abdullah : Le Prophète (ﷺ) se tenait près d’un arbre ou d’un palmier le vendredi. Un homme ou une femme parmi les Ansar dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Veux-tu qu’on te fabrique une chaire ? » Il répondit : « Si vous voulez. » Ils lui fabriquèrent donc une chaire, et le vendredi venu, il s’y dirigea pour faire le sermon. Le palmier se mit à pleurer comme un enfant ! Le Prophète (ﷺ) descendit, le prit dans ses bras, et il continua à gémir comme un enfant qu’on console. Le Prophète (ﷺ) dit : « Il pleurait parce qu’il n’entendait plus les paroles de science religieuse qui étaient dites près de lui. »

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:The Prophet (ﷺ) used to stand by a tree or a date-palm on Friday. Then an Ansari woman or man said. "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Shall we make a pulpit for you?" He replied, "If you wish." So they made a pulpit for him and when it was Friday, he proceeded towards the pulpit (for delivering the sermon). The datepalm cried like a child! The Prophet (ﷺ) descended (the pulpit) and embraced it while it continued moaning like a child being quietened. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It was crying for (missing) what it used to hear of religious knowledge given near to it
