Sahih al-Bukhari, 338

Rapporté par `Abdur Rahman bin Abza : Un homme est venu voir `Umar bin Al-Khattab et a dit : « Je suis devenu impur (Junub) mais il n’y avait pas d’eau. » `Ammar bin Yasir a dit à `Umar : « Te souviens-tu que toi et moi sommes devenus impurs pendant un voyage et que tu n’as pas prié, alors que moi je me suis roulé par terre et j’ai prié ? J’en ai informé le Prophète (ﷺ) et il a dit : “Cela t’aurait suffi de faire comme ceci.” Le Prophète a alors tapoté légèrement la terre avec ses mains, a soufflé la poussière et a passé ses mains sur son visage et ses mains. »

Narrated `Abdur Rahman bin Abza [??]:A man came to `Umar bin Al-Khattab and said, "I became Junub but no water was available." `Ammar bin Yasir said to `Umar, "Do you remember that you and I (became Junub while both of us) were together on a journey and you didn't pray but I rolled myself on the ground and prayed? I informed the Prophet (ﷺ) about it and he said, 'It would have been sufficient for you to do like this.' The Prophet then stroked lightly the earth with his hands and then blew off the dust and passed his hands over his face and hands
