Sahih al-Bukhari, 3368

Rapporté par `Aisha : (L’épouse du Prophète) Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) lui a dit : « Ne vois-tu pas que lorsque ton peuple a construit la Ka`ba, ils ne l’ont pas bâtie sur toutes les fondations posées par Abraham ? » J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Pourquoi ne la reconstruisons-nous pas sur les fondations d’Abraham ? » Il a dit : « Si ton peuple n’avait pas récemment quitté l’idolâtrie, je l’aurais fait. » Rapporté par Ibn `Umar : Aisha a dû entendre cela du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), car je vois que le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ne touchait pas les deux coins faisant face à Al-Hijr uniquement parce que la Maison n’avait pas été construite sur les fondations d’Abraham

Narrated `Aisha:(The wife of the Prophet) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said (to her). "Don't you see that when your folk built the Ka`ba, they did not build it on all the foundations built by Abraham?" I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Why don't we rebuild it on the foundations of Abraham?" He said. "But for the fact that your folk have recently given up infidelity (I would have done so). Narrated Ibn `Umar: Aisha must have heard this from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for I see that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used not to touch the two corners facing Al-Hijr only because the House had not been built on the foundations of Abraham
