Fighting for the Cause of Allah (Jihaad)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيُّ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ مُؤْمِنٌ يُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالُوا ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ‏"‏ مُؤْمِنٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَابِ يَتَّقِي اللَّهَ، وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ ‏"‏‏.‏

Rapporté par Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri : Quelqu’un a demandé : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Qui est la meilleure personne ? » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a répondu : « Un croyant qui s’efforce au maximum dans la cause d’Allah avec sa vie et ses biens. » Ils ont demandé : « Et ensuite ? » Il a répondu : « Un croyant qui reste dans un chemin de montagne, adorant Allah et laissant les gens à l’abri de son mal. »

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:Somebody asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Who is the best among the people?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) replied "A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property." They asked, "Who is next?" He replied, "A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief
