Sahih al-Bukhari, 2762

Rapporté par Ibn ‘Abbas : La mère de Sa‘d bin Ubada, le frère de Bani Saida, est morte en l’absence de Sa‘d. Il est donc allé voir le Prophète et a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Ma mère est morte en mon absence, cela lui sera-t-il utile si je donne en aumône pour elle ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) répondit : « Oui. » Sa‘d dit : « Je te prends à témoin que je donne mon jardin Al-Makhraf en aumône pour elle. »

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:That the mother of Sa`d bin Ubada the brother of Bani Saida died in Sa`d's absence, so he came to the Prophet saying, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! My mother died in my absence, will it benefit her if I give in charity on her behalf?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Yes." Sa`d said, "I take you as my witness that I give my garden Al-Makhraf in charity on her behalf
